My Students
I have the pleasure of teaching art to some of the most creative PreK to second grade scholars in St. Paul. They love to use their creative minds in all that they do and I am learning from these amazing children every day. We work together to support each other's strengths and talents and allow them to shine in our classroom. Our school is very diverse and takes pride in welcoming and engaging all scholars and families. We are committed to creating a school family where kids feel safe, loved, and connected.
As a school, we take pride in creating an environment where we celebrate diversity, discuss racial equity, and "inspire all scholars to reach high levels of social and academic achievement and to become future leaders through a collaborative system of support" (our school's mission statement).
My Project
In our art class, we have chairs at our tables to sit on while doing art. We also have a few wobbly chairs for the scholars to choose from. I would also love to have a few sets of stationary stools for my scholars to use.
Some scholars like to wobble on stools and others would rather choose a stool that doesn't move.
It is important to me to offer a variety of seating options in class. I want my scholars to feel comfortable as they create art. We love the excitement of making a choice and having fun new seating in our classroom.
