This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Donating to my project means that WE will be able to provide quick and healthy snacks to my middle school students who need them to thrive. Whether it was because they arrived to school after breakfast, missed lunch, or just need a quick pick-me-up, these high quality snacks will allow for higher engagement and more success in the classroom throughout the school year.

If there is one thing I have learned this year, it is that students don't learn when they are hungry.

One of the most common reasons our students were out of class was because they were looking for food. Food is a great motivator and without it, it can be an even greater distractor. Food fuels our bodies, gives energy to our brains, bring even the most tired student back to life, and has the power to keep kids in class.
