Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are thirsty for varied, hands on, creative exploration. My students come to school with a growth mindset, looking forward to new learning experiences, and eager to socialize amongst friends and staff. They are excited to know that their class has a visit to our Maker's Space and STEM lab each week, and can't wait to engage in active exploration with novel materials they rarely have opportunities to experience at home or in class. Students love to engage in challenges and need numerous opportunities to collaborate with peers to meet the challenges. Students will gain experience with building varied structures and explore engineering tasks with sets of Legos, and they will learn the beginning principles of robots and programming. These materials will be accessible to them in centers in our Maker's Space and STEM Lab.
