This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are in middle school theater and they have a hunger and spark for building and making clothing. Theatre is a newer and growing program at my school and although my students are very enthusiastic about learning how to build and construct costumes we have limited supplies. This year my students have loved learning about costuming, designing, and building garments. As a newer program we are in need of sewing supplies to allow students to work on bigger projects that would expand their current learning. I am requesting sewing machines, sewing needles, and sewing bobbins to help bring to life the bigger projects and allow students to tap into their undiscovered creativity.
