Help me give my students great resources, including makerspace carts, whiteboards, and alphabet manipulatives to enhance our small group learning and stay organized while doing it!
Every student learns in different ways and at different times. As a teacher, using differentiated instruction for all learners in the classroom allows for all students to be successful. I love being able to give them resources and options to foster their love of learning. I am looking forward to using small groups in my classroom this year so I can differentiate for each student!
Teacher directed small groups are a great place to differentiate and manage instruction for all students.
Small groups can be challenging in a Kindergarten classroom for one teacher unless the students are supported with well established routines and organization. The organizing carts will help students keep materials organized for their individual tasks as they rotate through different small group activities. The magnetic whiteboards, word segmenting trays and word work set will be used in the teacher's small group to reinforce student's phonological awareness. My students are active learners and giving them this flexibility to work in small groups while staying organized and on task will add to their success as learners!
