Stimulate Our Senses

Help me give my students kinetic sand, a sensory play set, magnetic tiles, and a variety of other hands on activities to help them engage in lessons, gain sensory output, and make school a comfortable place.

My Project

I work with elementary school age students who have severe disabilities and special needs. Many of them are nonverbal and are working to become comfortable being at school. We are working to help them learn to sit for extended periods of time, teaching them social skills, and practicing basic math/reading concepts. I hope to be able to engage them in a variety of ways by providing them hands on activities that correlate with lessons. I want to be able to offer them different sensory toys that they can play with to help their bodies be regulated and ready for learning.
