Stimulate Our Creativity! Let's Focus On Visual Art!
My students need a kit with 25 looms, nylon loopers, 2 sets of lace & 6 color spools, 2 dozen sharpies, display cards, fadeless paper & a Native American symbol poster
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Being the only art teacher in an urban PreK-8 school can be a challenge, especially when it comes to supplies. My school serves a high poverty area of New York City.
My students are bright, creative and love coming to art!
Our school does not have the budget to supply any art materials for them to use. I see over 500 students a week and I could use a little support with materials. I can't expect students to provide their own supplies given their economic situation.
My Project
I am requesting some basic art supplies that will help my students create bold, bright works of art. I want them to be able to use materials such as weaving looms, loops, plastic lace, sharpies and be inspired to take creative risks. Fadeless paper will help us display our artwork for the school community. Display cards and a Native American Symbols poster will provide learning opportunities through literacy and the arts.
Please help my students to have access to great materials that will get their creativity flowing.
Often times students that struggle with attention, behavior and testing really flourish in the art room. It's amazing to see the focus and energy they can put into projects that involve creative expression. Thank you for your support.
