My Students
My 17 students are so energetic, creative, and ready to learn. Our students are very diverse in their learning styles and backgrounds. We are in a high poverty urban area. Many of my students come from single parent homes where the parent is often working 2 or more jobs to make ends meet. Despite challenges that are beyond of their control, my students come to school with that "ready to learn something new" attitude. My job as their teacher is to keep the momentum and love for learning growing and to give them a positive learning environment.
My Project
It is so much easier to have students take ownership of their own learning, and with an organized system in the classroom, they can do just that. I am requesting supplies to help with organizing most of the materials I have currently, as well as ones I would like to have in the future. My students need organizational tools such as a craft paper cart and storage bins to make our classroom more efficient and accessible. These items will make lesson planning and centers run smoothly. No more shuffling in a large file cabinet and looking in jammed-packed cabinets to find what is needed.
