Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have many interactive displays and events going on in the library at CHS. Our students do an amazing job learning and participating, and we want to reward them for it! We've found that stickers really are the new candy. Student participation increases amazingly in the library when our kids see that they can win some fun stickers. The stickers are a great incentive to encourage students to participate in more events as well.

Students have the opportunity to win stickers by engaging with interactive displays.

For example, this month is Women's History Month. I created a scavenger hunt with questions, and the answers can be found by following the QR code to women's biographies. This helps students engage with history and also develops their literacy skills. Another sticker opportunity includes quiz bowls. We just did our first lunchtime quiz bowl on our school's pillars of success. The kids had so much fun and even had ideas for more quiz bowl themes. By including a variety of themed stickers in our prizes, we're hoping to get even more student participation!

Our students love opportunities to show off their knowledge, and we want to reward their passion to encourage lifelong learning!
