Our school provides early intervention services for children ages 3 to 5 with various developmental delays. Students receive services such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, and/or speech and language therapy while attending a special education preschool.
I believe that all children should be able to experience a hands-on, developmentally appropriate preschool regardless of their abilities, and that is what I strive to do every day.
I love to learn and hope to provide my students the same love of learning through play and exploration!
My Project
One item that we do not have in our classroom is a large portable magnetic board. This board would be used in a variety of activities for a variety of purposes. During play, we can add materials to the board including the Create-A-Path Magnetic Center that will challenge our thinking to make different paths. During circle time, we can write on it and use magnetic letters on it for the letter of the week activities. Since it is portable, we will be able to use it all around the classroom as well!
We love learning using hands-on materials.
This board will allow us to do just that as we will be able to interact with the toys and letters that we put on it. Our thinking will be challenged in so many ways all while we are learning and playing.
