Stick to the Beat: Mallets and Drumsticks for Young Musicians
Help me give my students the tools they need to fully participate in music class. These materials will help us build rhythm skills, ensemble playing, and confidence through hands-on music-making. They will also allow for full class participation.
In my music classroom, every student deserves the chance to fully participate and experience the joy of making music. Mallets and drumsticks are essential tools that allow students to play xylophones, drums, and other percussion instruments with proper technique. Unfortunately, we do not have enough for each child, and many of our current ones are worn down from years of use.
When students have access to the right equipment, they can focus on learning rhythm, teamwork, listening skills, and musical expression.
They feel confident, included, and excited to engage. Without enough mallets and sticks, students have to take turns or use substitutes that don’t produce the correct sound, which limits both their learning and enjoyment.
By providing these materials, you are giving students the opportunity to play, create, and grow as musicians. Your support helps us build a classroom where every child has what they need to succeed—one beat at a time. Thank you for helping us make music together!
