Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students do not come from the wealthiest families. They do not have the best things. They are low-income, immigrant families, mainly from Spanish-speaking countries. They work hard and care about education.
We live in NY and go to a NYC public school.
They try their best every day. The students all get free lunch and most of the supplies they have are the basics; pencils, paper, book bags, and the supplies needed for daily school life. I try to supply as much as I can to lift the burden of money from the families.
My Project
In the world of masks and covid comes the dilemma of educational manipulatives. In order to make my students education as "normal" as possible in these different times I am asking for magnetic hooks. These hooks will be used to hang bags of manipulatives off their desks. The students will be able to use them whenever they need them. They won't have to get out of their seat, and it will be theirs for the rest of the year.
The magnetic tape will be used to hang anchor charts and best pieces of work from their desks and around the room
