My Students

I am a first grade teacher in a rural school district in Oklahoma. There are twenty, six and seven year old students in my self-contained classroom.

I have a very creative, active, and imaginative group of students this school year.

I want them to thrive and be pushed to do their best in my classroom. I hope to give my students the best "all around" educational adventure possible!

I feel that by providing my students with several choices of "flexible seating" they will be able to choose the place they can learn BEST!

My Project

My students are in desperate need of a new group-time rug. Our current rug is over ten years old, stained and faded. I want my students to have a new, natural colored rug for whole group time. Many of my students choose the whole group rug as their "flexible seat" for the day accompanied with a clipboard or lap desk so they are able to complete their work. Kids are just like adults, they feel better and preform better when surrounded by beautiful "new" scenery. I want my classroom to be a garden of learning adventure for every student that walks into my classroom. Please help us get the stepping stone rug for our whole group area.
