STEPPING STONES TO A STRONG FOUNDATION IN READING is a project for our Title 1 school. Our school is lacking enough decodable text for reading groups.
These materials will allow each student to have their own copy of the decodable text during reading groups so they can touch each unknown word as they sound it out
Phonics and phonemic awareness are the first components to the Science of Reading Approach, which shows positive results with students who are dyslexic or have other learning disabilities.
Once students learn to decode they move on to reading comprehension.
