Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My goal and purpose for this project is to actually change perspective from text and images into immersive and real time understanding of events and locations throughout history. I've recently used a VR headset in my classroom connected to one of our displays using a 360 degree video reenactment of the civil war. This was meant as a means to have students hear and see events as they were taking place even as a reenactment and the overall feel of what it was like on the battlefield at the time. My hope is to delve deeper into VR in my classroom as a means to explore different areas and times as well as conduct virtual field trips and activities. Eventually the hope is to get a classroom set but these six VR headsets well at least allow me to conduct group activities and observations.
