Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students would like access to an VR headset because it offers a unique and immersive learning experience. With virtual reality technology, students can explore and interact with 3D simulations, visit STEM careers, travel to far-off places, and engage in hands-on learning activities. With a classroom of more than 20 kids each session, our current VR set has seen wear and tear.
This technology can help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, increase engagement and motivation, and provide opportunities for learning that may not be possible otherwise.
Additionally virtual reality can be used to enhance training in fields such as engineering, allowing students a chance to escape and enter a world of reality with so many learning possibilities, which is also great for social-emotional & mindfulness activities. It will allow my students the opportunity to step into places, roles, and experiences that they could ever have imagined and building our STEAM and Game Design Academy.
