This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"The greatest wealth is health," stated Virgil. My students are always eager to learn different ways to keep their minds and bodies healthy. I teach Physical Education and my students love the idea of staying active!

My students are always willing to try new activities as long as they know they will be on the move!

Physical Education class is a way for me to get my students out of their comfort zones and have them push themselves physically and mentally.

My Project

My job is to educate my students on how and why staying active will benefit them in the long run. My P.E. department focuses on a fitness based curriculum but we teach our students that working out is fun! The majority of the fitness equipment we have is hand made due to the lack of funds.

The step up boxes would be a great fit for the program because it will show my students a different way to perform a cardio workout and to show them how fast their heart rate can increase.

The resistance bands would teach my students how they can work their muscles just by having an instrument to resist as their muscles are being activated as they pull up.

The basis essentials would be the basketballs because everyday during recess, my students are playing basketball and trying to improve on their basketball skills.
