My students need the opportunity to experience a STEAM/Choice based art program, the store and display teaching cart from Lakeshore Learning Materials will enable them to achieve this.
Art is essential to child development. My students are talented artists who enjoy exploring all art medium. They enjoy creating all forms of art.
My school has a diverse population that is composed of children from many different countries and cultures.
There is a large population of English Language Learners and students with learning disabilities. These students gain so much insight through art. They are able to develop language skills, as well as express themselves freely through their creations.
The artists at my school need art materials to help them experience their creativity. They need a wide assortment of art materials to be able to expand upon their creative horizons and grow as artists and problem solvers. Throughout art, they will also increase their love for learning in all subject areas.
My Project
Choice based art and teaching for artistic behavior are growing movements in art classes throughout the world. Incorporating STEM and STEAM concepts with a choice based art program, allows students to discover art and design in ways beyond their imagination. The Store and Display teaching cart will enable me to bring a choice based art program into the classrooms. My artists will be able to use the cart to select materials and projects that they want to work on.
Children need art to develop academically, the ability to make choices helps them to grow artistically.
My students will create art that takes many shapes and forms. They will understand the fundamentals of Science, Math, Art, Engineering and Technology. They will also gain knowledge of the elements and principles of art, due to the ability to design art projects that meet their interests.
My school does not have an art room, so I travel from class to class. This makes it a challenge to run a choice based art program. It also limits what my students can achieve artistically. This cart will allow me to give my students an art program that will expand their artistic horizons and love of learning.
