My Project

The Flower Shop Hydroponics Project will transform our library into a living laboratory where students can plant, nurture, and observe flowers as they grow. Through hands-on experiences, students will gain meaningful exposure to plant science, including how flowers regenerate after cutting and the essential elements required for healthy growth. This project is designed to break down barriers to real-world learning by giving students a chance to engage with nature in a way they may not otherwise experience.

yCubes for a variety of flower types, vases for safe transport, and plant food, and nurseries for healthy growth will provide the tools needed for this project.

These tools will allow students to explore diverse flower species while learning responsibility and care. In addition, students will develop customer service skills through the “flower shop” component and strengthen creative writing skills.

Students in grades 1–4 are eager learners with limited opportunities for hands-on, project-based experiences. This initiative provides a unique chance for them to build confidence, apply creative thinking, and deepen background knowledge in plant science. The process of cultivating and sharing flowers will instill a sense of accomplishment while sparking curiosity about the natural world.
