My students are very unique and diverse. They are a wonderful bunch of 3rd graders who have a thirst for learning and are very inquisitive and enthusiastic. It is my goal as an educator to help them grow and explore the world around them.
In my classroom we have students who want to be doctors, animators, engineers, and more!
They are full of life and excitement and bring that energy to their learning each day. In our classroom we embrace one another for who we are and what our dreams are.
My Project
Third graders in my class are very eager to learn and explore! All of the STEM materials not only give them that opportunity but also allow for a creative break during the day. A lot of our day is extremely structured and it is tough to keep up at that pace. We are fortunate to have a time in our day for students to explore passion projects through Genius Hour, to have creativity time, and to be curious thinkers through the use of these STEM items. These materials would also be a wonderful learning choice for indoor recess times.
The items that I have selected will help my students throughout the day by providing them with STEM activities to allow them to be creative and explore new topics.
I can envision students building a model of a personal invention or a representation of their learning using the Lego's. Students can practice engineering and building with the Magna-Tiles as well as the Maze Bots. I will also give them possible challenge tasks to be completed using the provided materials.
I want to continue to be able to challenge my students and let them show their creativity. Bringing STEM into our classroom is just the tool that we need to re-energize the learning in our room. Please help me keep the excitement for learning alive in my students!
