Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are stimulated by hands on material. They love to be engrossed in their activities. Children need stimulating material that inspire imagination, creativity, and supports their overall academic growth.
My students are 3, 4 and 5 years old with mild to severe disabilities including Autism and developmental delays.
They are wonderful little learners. They are energetic, full of personality and at time mini comedians. The school they attend is in an impoverished neighborhood. Many days it's hard to get basic materials like crayons and glue. There is no funds available to purchase supplemental materials that support students learning. However, I refuse not to try to obtain the resources that I know will be an asset to their learning.
My Project
I am so excited that STEM materials are available for preschoolers. It is designed so that students take control of their learning in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It teaches them through play and experimentation on concepts that impact their world. My students need a STEM Bundle- Preschool, a Giant Roller a Ramps, Water Pipe Builders and Race Cars. The STEM Bundle includes all four disciples that will get my students going. They will learn hands-on building and invention. They will learn problem solving skills. They will learn concepts such as sink, float, weight and balance. They will learn to be critical thinkers which is one of many aims in preschool. The Giant Roller and cars will teach my students motion. They will learn how to design for speed. Just thinking about all the things they will learn has me so excited. The water pipe builder will teach them how water flows through pipes and it exit. Having these materials will be an awesome addition.
Having this material will change my students lives for the better.
They will have hands-on material that is engaging, age appropriate and stimulating. They will learn by discovery and trail and error how the world works around them. Your donation will give my students the opportunity to explore science, technology, math and engineering concepts.
