Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very eager to learn. Each day, as they enter the classroom, the first thing they ask is what we will be learning. They love any opportunity to apply learning independently.

My school is a Title I/Renaissance with 93% of our students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch.

Many students are English Language Learners. These students work hard while not only learning content but also English. Though my students faces challenges daily, they work hard to accomplish and exceed high expectations.

My Project

My students will use their manipulatives in both science and math. They will be able to conduct hands-on science experiments on their own on a daily basis while start to understand coding to . They will also use the manipulatives during daily guided math and independent math and science centers. They will develop their own strategies for solving problems, foster their articulation about a problem, and allow students to work independently and cooperatively.. My students will also explore real world challenges that will ask them to plan, build and test their unique designs that integrates STEM with literacy and math.

My goal is for my students, have the opportunity to investigate, explore, build, create, and experiment with the proper, age appropriate, manipulative.

This project will help all my students know that can feel proud of their work and in turn be able to vocalize and express not only how they invented something, but they will take this zest for ownership home and share with their family.
