My students need 4 Vernier Labquest II, temperature and pH probes so that they can experience hands-on activities and graph data for temperature, pH, and many other labs.
Remember that middle school science experiment that made a lasting impression on you? I want my students to have the materials necessary so they too, can have those experiences that last a lifetime. They need the opportunity for more hands-on inquiry labs than we can provide on a limited budget.
I have 185 awesome 8th grade students who are eager to learn how Physics and Chemistry relates to them and the world around them.
They are a very diverse group of young teenagers, with varied interests, backgrounds, ethnicity, aspirations, hopes and dreams. They are eager to share and excited about the topics we have discussed so far. They are like sponges, soaking up new ideas with boundless curiosity and wonder. They constantly amaze me with their creativity, and love of learning. We have students of all levels, from advanced to far below basic in English/language arts and math. I want to make sure that they are ALL proficient in science!
My Project
I am asking for 4 Vernier Labquest II 2 interface. This interface can be used alone or with a computer or mobile device to record data. Students will be able to collect, analyze, and share sensor data using wireless to record temperature, pH, and complete many other labs Instead of periodically reading numbers off an alcohol thermometer, that may or may not be at exact intervals, students will be about to stream data as it happens, and can see the data in a data table or on a graph. This technology shows students the myriad of ways that programs can record data, and how this digital information is better than analog (NGSS Std). These STEM activities incorporate science, math, tech. and engineering into a plethora of activities.
We are in the 21st century and today's student needs the opportunity to engage learning content, context, and skills in core subjects so that they can be productive in this century and beyond.
Science education products such as these will help students develop critical thinking, problem identification and solution skills, encourage creativity and intellectual curiosity. Students will learn flexibility, adaptability, social skills, productivity, leadership and responsibility. Thank you!
