Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a mentor, working teacher with a group of 25 very eager, inquisitive, enthusiastic, and hard-working students (ranging from 14 – 17) in the Robotic Stem RC Club. As many of the students in this club come from low-income households, they know how hard their families have to work to be able to give them what need in order to achieve greatness in school. This club is in need of tools, motors, air cans, tool boxes, tires, batteries, Cricut vinyl cutter, and vinyl (this tool is used for labels to enhance the Robot cars) for this club to operate it is a necessary to have all the tools mention for the student to succeed. Given their eagerness to learning, many of them will request to stay after school three to four times a week. Clearly, this shows their steadfast commitment and desire for knowledge! Traits such as these are commendable and should be supported, especially when it comes to adolescents.
My Project
These tools will enhance my students creativity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will be great for their competitions.
My students will be eager to get to work on their Robotic Stem club as soon as they receive their new materials.
They cant wait to use their new tools on the future competition specially at Nationals in Texas A&M University. We are in the process of building an autonomous vehicle which requires coding and engineering. We have many other projects lined up in the future with these supplies.
