My Students

I have the best second grade class this year! My students are so sweet, hard working, eager to learn, and pleasant to be around. We call my class the "Kindness Classroom" because we are always talking about ways we can be kind to others. Every day, we have circle time and we talk about celebrations that are going on in our lives. We share so much with each other and have become a strong school family.

Every morning, I am greeted with smiles and hugs from my sweet second graders.

They are so excited to come to school and I am just as excited to see them. I feel blessed to be called their teacher and I hope that I am making a positive impact in their lives.

My Project

In the last few years, I have wanted to add STEM toys to my classroom. This year, I put that idea into action. At the end of the week, I block off 20-30 minutes of the day to let my students build, explore, discover, and most importantly PLAY! My students love this time and I have witnessed so many great things happening. They are free to play with each other and while doing this, they learn how to take turns, work together, problem solve, and get new ideas from one another. These are very important skills that all children need to learn. Unfortunately, I have to borrow these STEM toys from another teacher because I do not have any. I would love to have my own toys for my current students in my classroom and for my future students.

STEM toys are beneficial to ALL children.

I hope that I will be able to have my own collection one day and continue to promote a fun and engaging learning experience for all my students.
