My Project

Kindergartners thrive when they are able to learn through play. In our fast-paced learning environment, it’s pretty hard to fit any “play time” into these kindergarteners days. That is why I would love to give my students the gift of play-based learning through a variety of STEM toys.

Giving my students the time to put down their pencils and build something with their hands will be a gift in itself.

STEM toys give us the opportunity for learning that can be disguised as play! The magnetic tiles, magnet building sticks, and building bricks are a great way for my students to learn how to build various structures and follow patterns. The tangrams and geoboards are another great way for them to practice following patterns. STEM toys even help students to exercise their fine motor skills, as they come with small parts to manipulate. The Play-doh will be used for making letters and numbers in some of our daily centers. Additionally, the set of plastic tubs will help me to properly store these materials for my students to access easily.
