My Project
As educators, we strive to ignite curiosity and cultivate a passion for learning in our students, especially in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). One powerful way to do this is through interdisciplinary teaching, where literature and STEM concepts come together to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
The novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick offers an exciting opportunity to integrate STEM concepts, artistic exploration, and literary analysis.
In this proposal, I am seeking funding for five copies of The Invention of Hugo Cabret, along with essential materials—masking tape, mini motors, and alligator clips—that will allow students to explore the novel's themes and characters through interactive, STEM-based projects.
Students will not only engage with the historical context of automaton creation but also learn the importance of trial and error, problem-solving, and teamwork—key principles in the world of STEM.
With your generous donation, this project will allow students to experience the magic of The Invention of Hugo Cabret in a way that connects literature with real-world applications. By merging the world of STEM with this captivating story, we can inspire our students to think creatively, problem-solve, and innovate, just as Hugo does in the novel.
