See what Mrs. Shamon Collins is requestingMy students need new technology infused educational tools like Osmo to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new ideas and new opportunities, to boldly go where not many students from low-income families have gone before.

I am honored to teach at a Title I school where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. In addition, some students receive a food bag that helps over the weekend, but that is only a small part of who my students are.
My students have an amazing ability to struggle through adversity and a willingness meet high expectations.
They are so much more than their socioeconomic status, because they truly embody hope and perseverance. Providing a solid educational foundation to these students really impacts their future.
Second Grade is a huge year of change for student. This is the year when they are learning to write for a purpose, read for comprehension and work collaborative to solve problems much like the real world. The material in this project will help students develop collaboration and teamwork skills to foster a love for leaning and apply to a future career. I am a firm believer that when students are allowed to create and interact with their leaning the every student benefits despite their challenges.
Students don't get excited about finishing worksheets, so donations to this project will help students take ownership of their learning by allowing them to take chances, research their interests, and explore through play.
The Osmo allows students to interact with the iPad using manipulatives. There they can build words with actual letters. The Echo dot can be used during writing as a spelling assistant as well as addressing all sorts of speaking and listening standards. The Wonder Workshop allows student to practice coding as they work together in a authentic learning experience. Finally, the Magformers will give student a chance to practice and explore engineering.
