STEM Technology Drone

My students need a DJI Phantom 4 drone with a battery and SD card. I would love to give my students (all 500 of them) the opportunity to learn about next-generation technology.

My Students

I am the STEM Technology Coordinator at our elementary school in Georgia. I serve over 500 students out of our STEM Technology lab and what is great is that if I have access to resources (such as this drone), I then have the ability to teach all aspects of STEM and Technology.

I teach in a relatively small school, and I serve all students from Kindergarten to Fifth grade.

My students come to me as a special area class even though we incorporate STEM throughout the building. My school is a Title 1 school, which means we get funds. However, STEM is not included with Title 1 funds so projects such as this drone cannot happen without donations.

My Project

My students need a DJI Phantom 4 drone. There are several ways I can use a drone in my lab. From looking at nature 100 feet in the air to teaching students how aviation has changed over the last 100 years. My students will become pilots and actually fly the aircraft. Wouldn't you have liked the opportunity to do that when you were in school? This donation will provide my students with not just one project, but many.

This project will make a huge difference in the lives of many children.

Students will learn about the technology of tomorrow...today! In the future, there will be jobs out there that require knowledge of drones and what better way to begin a career path than to fly one in elementary school. If you donate to this project, you may be the starting mark for someone's career.
