STEM-tastic Inspiration

My students need hands on learning experiences with a STEM focus. The supplies I have requested will be used to create STEM bins for students to use during enrichment and if they finish their work early.

My Students

My students are excited to learn, and they love coming to school. They start their day with free breakfast in the classroom to ensure that all students have their basic needs met. We are a diverse classroom with students of many different backgrounds and life experiences. Our classroom mission is to create a safe and fun learning environment, where all students can rise to their fullest potential and feel supported by their peers. My school participates in a program called MicroSociety. This teaches students about running a business venture, working together, being responsible, managing money (micro money), having a "job" in the business, and even managing a team of their peers.

My Project

These STEM supplies will be used by students to deepen their understanding and engagement with our curriculum in science, and it will give them a chance to develop problem solving skills through hands on learning.

Students in my class will use the STEM kits to activate higher level thinking skills, work through problems, and develop strategies to complete challenges.

Through independent and group practice, students will learn how to face a challenge and work through problems to reach success.

These valuable tools not only make learning more fun, but they engage the brain in creative ways and instill a deep love for learning.
