STEM Storytellers Need Supplies!

Help me give my students scientific tools & dramatic play items to help them explore life and physical science with the specimen centers and microscopes, as well as engaged in valuable life and communication skills with the costumes.

My Students

My students come from diverse cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds and in our classroom we celebrate our differences and work together to achieve our best.

In my class, we build a community where all students are challenged, engaged, and most of all loved!

We love to learn through play and utilize our natural curiosity to teach us about the world. Our school has a large population of English learners and families who receive free breakfast and free/reduced lunch, including students from local shelters. My students come to my classroom, all at various ability levels, excited and ready to learn.

My Project

My students will use the magnifying glasses, Specimen Sets, and microscopes to closely explore their natural surroundings and explore their growing curiosities. They will be able to guide their own learning through exploration and learn to appreciate nature and build a love for the sciences. Students will be able to find items outside and identify them using the microscope, exploring their uses and what they are made of. They will use the specimen sets and magnifying glasses to explore animals and plant life, with the ability to touch and feel real items like real scientists!

Students will be able to not only explore but feel and create using these items.

Students will use the dramatic play costumes to explore community helper jobs and engage in essential conversations to enhance their oral vocabulary and knowledge. The pet vet center will allow students to get a closer look at an essential job in their community and learn kindness and respect for animals. This project will help my students relate to their communities and recognize the importance of the helpers all around them.
