My Students
21st century skills include collaboration, critical thinking and creativity!
As the science and math enrichment teacher, I am lucky to teach every student in our Title I building.
My kindergarten through fifth grade students come to me with a wide range of abilities. Our Metro Detroit school has a large percentage of students who receive free or reduced price lunch. I also have several English language learners who are like sponges ready to take on new learning daily.
My Project
I am requesting a mobile storage cart and STEM activity books for my kindergarten through fifth grade students. The way of the future is to engage students in learning that will promote 21st century skills. These include creativity, communication, collaboration and critical thinking.
By selecting the above materials, I will create a STEM station for our classroom. The activity books have grade level appropriate, engaging STEM activities that use everyday materials, som of which we already have. The mobile storage cart will be used to create a Maker Space--an area where materials can be housed so that students can select what they need for their projects.
Your donation to this project will help to create critical thinkers in my classroom.
My students will be given a task and have to work collaboratively to complete it. Having materials ready and at their fingertips will allow students to get started right away, as well as house things in an organized manner.
