My Project
This project integrates STEM education with hands-on gardening experiences, allowing students to explore science, technology, engineering, and math through real-world applications. By growing vegetables in the classroom, students engage in inquiry-based learning, problem-solving, and critical thinking while developing a deeper understanding of plant biology, environmental science, and sustainability.
Using tools such as hydroponic systems, grow lights, soil testing kits, and measurement instruments, students will conduct experiments, track plant growth, analyze data, and learn about the impact of variables like light, water, and nutrients.
Engineering concepts come into play as they design and optimize growing setups, while math skills are strengthened through measuring, graphing, and calculating growth rates.
Through this project, students not only develop STEM skills but also gain an appreciation for agriculture, nutrition, and the environment, fostering a sense of responsibility and curiosity about the world around them.
