My students need STEM kits in order to provide them with a hands-on activity that will enrich their learning experiences.

My students are diverse and unique individuals. They are not a one size fits all group. Many of my students come from broken homes, single parent homes, and homes with multiple children. Almost all of them eat free and reduced lunches. They long for love and attention from their teacher. My students are the best 5th graders you will ever met and I love being their teacher and mentor.
My students are full of energy, full of laughter, and they are eager to learn more each day.
My students are independent and they love learning!! They can't wait to get to school so that we can enjoy our days together exploring the world. My student eyes light up when they learn something new and I know they will do spectacular things if they are given a chance, the right tools, and a little encouragement.
My school is part of a declining school district and our resources are limited. It is however, one of the newest schools in the district. It is clean, organized, and full of color.
Many of my students are kinesthetic learners. They learn using a hands-on approach which will be provided by having theses sets of STEM kits. The kits will also allow for different structures of learning in my classroom and they will take our Science lessons to a whole new level. We will use the kits during our Science block and in a STEM center to help provide hands-on experiences. Allowing my students to use these kits will challenge them to reach deeper into the thought process, allow them to collaborate with peers, and will produce experiences that will last a lifetime. The STEM kits I would like to get for my students include: in-depth engineering activities, researching parachutes to test gravity’s effects on different objects, developing skills in the design process of building a car, exploring cause and effect, and experimenting with force, motion & traction. STEM is the way of the future and unfortunately my district is behind in providing our students with these types of activities. The STEM kits will change the learning in my classroom 100% percent.
