Hola! こんにちは! Hello! سلام! Ciao! I am a fourth grade teacher at an elementary school in Utah. Here we honor individuality, value differences, and celebrate diversity! Among my fourth graders are multiple ethnicities, languages, and personalities.
My students are valued members of their community and are passionate about learning!
They are eager to take on challenges, express their ideas, and make new friends. Our classroom is a place full of happiness, growth, and empathy!
My Project
All of the fourth graders in Utah have access to the Every Kid Outdoor Pass. This allows them to visit national parks all over the country for free! My hope is to teach my students more about the national parks, rocks, space, and all things science. More importantly than that, I want my students to see themselves as scientists and that they have access to valuable resources. I want my students to see their possibilities and encourage them to visit a national park.
My goal for this project is to inspire my students to use these resources to explore and question things!
Most of the materials in this project are related to science and different ways of exploring. I have requested a rock STEM kit, books about space and the national parks. These resources will help my students better see themselves as capable scientists.
