This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My fourth-grade students are resilient, resourceful, and hardworking. They come to school every day with aspirations of greatness and desire to be the best they possibly can be. My student resides in an industrial section of the city. They are English Language Learners as well as Standard English Learners.
My student live very modest lives yet are the most generous and kind-hearted individuals you would ever meet.
They understand the importance of a well-rounded education.
My students are thirsty for knowledge and need as many experiences as possible to help them grow.
My Project
Apple-iPad is an incredibly valuable resource to have in class because will help students make a connection between math, science, engineering, and technology. My 4th-grade students not only need to learn how to be literate in English Language Arts but code as well.
Students will use the Apple-iPad to practice writing code to enable a robot to follow a command that will make him move.
Students will be able to make connections into careers such as engineering and the importance of math and science. Also if granted, this Ipad students will be able to access SKIES, an application that will allow students to incorporate technology into lessons such as math. SKIES will enable the teacher to post math problems and have students collaboratively solve the problems allowing for teachers feedback in real time.
