My Project
My students come from many different backgrounds including rural and low-income. My students have a strong curiosity and are eager to learn. They have overcome difficult challenges, and refuse to give up. They are kind, smart, and incredible human beings. I would love to provide my students with the opportunity to explore and learn through STEM with hands-on materials. STEM education is important for students to foster a love of learning, encourage curiosity, and develop critical thinking skills at an early age. These tools will help lay a strong foundation for future academic success by exposing them to problem-solving, analytical thinking, and exploration through science, technology, engineering, and math concepts, which are naturally aligned with children's innate inquisitiveness; this can also help boost their language development and overall cognitive abilities. Introducing basic STEM concepts like shapes, numbers, patterns, and simple scientific experiments at a young age helps build a solid foundation for future learning. Many of the students I serve do not have access to STEM tools. STEM encourages children to be creative and think outside the box when designing solutions to problems. These tools will help build confidence and increase their social-emotional skills in life.
