This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Stem hands-on materials will be very helpful for our preschool students as this year we started to use CGI math program on daily basis in the small groups. We work on counting, sorting, adding and subtracting by using different math games and manipulative. When working on simple math problems we noticed that our students who struggle more with numbers learn faster when we use manipulatives along with visuals.
We are planning to use these toys in our small group rotations during our CGI lessons.
These stem materials will increase their ability to practice their math skills and reach their IEP goals in Math and Cognitive development. Students are more motivated to learn math when they are using interesting and fun activities. Preschool students get very excited when they have a chance to play with toy dinosaurs, different land, and sea animals.
