My Project
My students love stories — and they love to build. With the Lakeshore Fairy Tales Problem Solving STEM Kits, I want to combine both passions by turning classic fairy tales into exciting engineering challenges. Imagine students reimagining how Rapunzel could escape her tower using a pulley system, or helping the Three Billy Goats Gruff build a stronger bridge. These kits make STEM hands-on, meaningful, and magically fun.
By integrating literacy with real-world problem solving, these kits will help my students think critically, collaborate, and persevere — skills they need now and in the future.
I teach a bright and curious group of elementary students who thrive when learning is active and engaging. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to every challenge. What unites them is their love for stories and their eagerness to explore the “why” and “how” behind the world around them.
Many of my students don’t have access to STEM learning tools at home, so I work hard to make our classroom a place where they can build, explore, and imagine. These kits will help level the playing field and make high-quality STEM education more accessible for all my learners.
The Lakeshore Fairy Tales STEM kits include classic tales paired with hands-on challenges that ask students to build creative solutions using real STEM practices. Each kit includes all the materials needed for students to design, test, and improve their ideas — exactly how real engineers work.

They’ll see themselves as problem-solvers, designers, and thinkers — no matter what their background is. These kits will help them fall in love with STEM while building a deep understanding of how stories and science can come together in exciting ways.
