STEM is a huge part of the learning process and benefits students tremendously. These items provide opportunities to immerse themselves in math, science, engineering, and technology. The rulers, magnetic tiles, straws and connectors, and dominos allow students to build and create individually or with peers. These materials will be used daily in our classroom for morning work, curriculum, free time, and indoor recess. These items will allow students to build and construct based on their own ideas and creativity. There will also be opportunities to use STEM materials during math centers. Students will follow task cards that align with the curriculum to provide further practice. Providing interactive hands on practice will help support student understanding with 2 dimensional/3 dimensional objects, measuring with a ruler, polygons, area/perimeter and much more.
