STEM Manipulatives Help Students Learn Abstract Concepts

Help me give my students an opportunity to expand their knowledge of science, technology, engineering and math through the use of STEM manipulatives such as building sticks, Geoboards, and building blocks.

My Project

STEM manipulatives are important because they help students learn abstract concepts, build confidence, and make learning fun. I am requesting manipulatives that are science, technology, engineering, and math related for use during centers in my kindergarten classroom.

I know manipulatives increase student engagement and it is my goal to provide hands-on materials that help students visualize the curriculum.

Students learn best when the manipulate materials in a small group. My students will develop coordination, increase their self-confidence, and thrive as they build and create. I want my students to have materials that they can use to investigate how things work.

STEM is all about exploration and I want my kindergarten students to have the opportunity to make sense of the world around them through exploration of manipulatives. The students will be learning along with other students as they talk, build, and create.

I just finished my STEM endorsement and I am so excited to share my passion of making learning relevant with my students. STEM education is very important because it exposes students to real-world problems and scenarios. I want my students to prepare for the future as they engage in problem-based learning.
