My Project

One way to build student interest in reading and literacy is to make the content fun and engaging. I am asking for materials that will be used to complete eight different STEM activities inspired by common fairytales and nursery rhymes. Students will use these materials with critical thinking skills in order to build structures and complete STEM challenges.

The stories and activities are as follows:

The Three Little Pigs- Build a House for Pig

Little Red Riding Hood- Grandma's Escape Zipline

Itsy Bitsy Spider- Make an Umbrella for Itsy Bitsy

The Three Billy Goats Gruff- Make a bridge

Hey Diddle Diddle- Cow Catapult

Jack and the Beanstalk- Parachute Races

Humpty Dumpty- Humpty's Safe Fall

The Gingerbread Man- Gingerbread Boat Races

These activities will allow for learning across curriculums. By providing students with the opportunity to experience literature, I will be able to encourage and inspire them to be lifelong readers.
