My Students

As a title 1 school in a district with many low income students, having a robotics program would expand the horizons for many of our school's students.

My students are brilliant thinkers, and my hope in starting a robotics program would be to offer them an opportunity to apply their creativity to the challenging world of STEM.

Many of the students desire to have access to resources like robots to expand their thinking and develop as students. However, they need a program in school to have access to these resources for learning computer programming.

My Project

We are starting a robotics club in the fall and currently have only 1 Lego Mindstorm Robot kit. These additional kits will allow more students the opportunity to participate in the club and apply their creativity through computer programming and STEM.

Students will learn the basics of computer programming, which can open their eyes to possible careers as they get older.

They will also experience failure and eventually success in coding and STEM through perseverance. The more often a student experiences perseverance the easier it is for them to apply it in other situations in the classroom and at home.
