My Project

I am so excited to move back to second grade this year! I can't wait to meet my new students and learn about them!

The materials in this project will give me and my students tools we need to make learning math concepts more concrete and help to build critical thinking skills.

The base ten blocks will be used by students to help them gain a better understanding of number sense. We use place ten blocks to learn about place value and adding and subtracting numbers. The play-doh and toothpicks will be used for STEM activities such a building 3-D shapes and participating in challenges such as building towers and bridges.

The plastic bins will be used to store all of our math and STEM manipulatives and the portable desk will allow me to stand and be mobile while teaching using my laptop and/or ipad.
