STEM Learning Through The Use Of Fairy Tales

My students need STEM material to enhance their learning. With the Fairy Tail STEM kits, the children will gain a better understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in which they can relate to.

My Students

The students that I work with are energetic, fun, loving, eager to learn children. These children are 3,4 and 5 year old Pre-K students that come from low income households. My classroom makes up a wonderful mixture of special education, general education and English Language Learners.

My students love to learn and hands on learning is the way to go with Preschool children.

They enjoy coming to school everyday and I enjoy there enthusiasm that they have and share. This is a class that learns off of each other which is a great experience for all.

My Project

Donations of the STEM fairy tale project will greatly impact the students learning. The students will be learning about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math through fairy tales on developmentally appropriate terms.

The materials will also give the students the chance to problem solve, work on social-emotional development, creative expression, language and literacy along with STEM.

The fairy tale will be read and discussed with the book provided and the students will have the opportunity to act out the fairy tale with the puppets provided. They will have hands on learning which is vital for early childhood development. Children will engineer a house that can not be blown down by a wolf, construct a bridge and escape a troll and build a chair that Goldilocks can not break. The children are using there senses for hands on learning.
