This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our high school is a Title I school located in East Harlem. Over 30% of our population are Special Education students and almost 90% receive free and reduced lunches.
Our special education students are working so hard with their teachers to fill in foundational gaps in their learning.
They are determined to not let their socio-economic disadvantages impact their path to reaching their goals.
However, access to certain supports can be costly! Your donation will help bring STEM materials designed to support Special Education needs into our classrooms!
The donation will be used to purchase a digital card from the Teachers Pay Teachers website. We have found that this website offers really great STEM lesson plans and materials that are bold, supportive and intriguing for our students.
Particularly the card will be used to buy lessons related to 9th grade math and science.
