My Students

The school is situated in a rural area in the westernmost part of O'ahu, Hawaii. Our children face daily challenges and desperately need our support and care. We serve the highest population of students who are in poverty and lack reliable transportation.

I believe education is a priority and it should not be hindered for those that come from low-socioeconomic neighborhoods.

For most of them, it is difficult to get the basic school supplies that are needed to learn. Please join me in supporting our students that need a leg up in our society.

My Project

I teach in a rural school on the west coast of Oʻahu with around 475 students total from grades Kindergarten through 6th Grade and I have the amazing opportunity to teach STEM to all of our beautiful Seahorses.

Our Seahorse are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions about the world and environment around them.

Every day I see how much the students enjoy delving into science, researching with technology, engaging in hands-on engineering design projects, and utilizing math to solve real-world problems. I love working with and getting to know each and every one of them as I see them progress throughout the school year.

This project will allow me to incorporate a lot more hands-on STEM projects through various STEM and science kits and help with guiding the students in their learning of Engineering Design, Life & Environmental Science, Physical Science, and Earth & Space Science. These materials will give us enough activities for all of our students to explore and enjoy.
