Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a group of 24 of the most incredible, hard working 5 year-olds around.They love to learn and get their hands dirty. My students are from a low income area, but are determined to be the best they can be! They do not get a ton of access to outside resources, so I try to bring as many real-life discoveries in our classroom that I can. They take on every challenge head-on and would love to have more science in the classroom!

My Project

These STEM kits will help my students meet Next Generation Science Standards. Currently the only science our students have access to, is the Butterfly unit at the end of the school year. I would like my students to make Science a daily part of their lives. I think that we will be able to do this best by incorporating STEM throughout our already jam packed day. I hope to open doors for students who may struggle with reading and math, and find our future generations of scientists and engineers through play and discovery! With your help, we can make their dreams a reality!
