Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work at a Title I school on the East side of San Antonio where the majority of our students come from low-income families.
These seriously fun robotics kits help students develop and apply a conceptual understanding of science, technology, engineering, and math by solving puzzles, designing solutions to novel problems, and creating new inventions.
STEM Robotics toys teach kids to focus on the four subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math while playing with robots and learning in a fun way. A great STEM robotics toy would be one that is fun for your child and suitable for their age, developmental needs, and personality.
Other skills attained through STEM education include problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, curiosity, decision-making, leadership, entrepreneurship, acceptance of failure, and more.
Typically, academic awards include valedictorians, honor students, class presidents, and student leaders who contribute to the school. An awards ceremony makes people feel that their work is valued. It shows approval and gratitude for each person's good job, and it makes people aware that good work will be rewarded. It shows others, such as the general public and other staff members, that you're aware of outstanding accomplishments. We have a very diverse group of students who are eager to learn. One hundred percent of our students also qualify for a free lunch. Many cannot afford even basic supplies, so we try to provide everything we are able to for the students that are needed along with extra goodies as rewards. We teach a majority of Hispanic and African American students, a percentage of English language learners, and special education students.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. It is an approach to learning and development that integrates the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
