My students are so full of life and love of learning. The population, of our little Title I school in New York, is made up of many different cultures from all over the world, who work together to help build peace at home, at school and in our community.
They are the peace builders for the future.
They are learning to communicate and collaborate to solve problems and learn. They are learning to have a growth mindset and know that mistakes only open another door towards the solution. They will practice these skills and more as we explore through STEAM activities.
My Project
We need LEGO bricks, doors, windows and roof tiles to explore the design aspect of Engineering. My students can use LEGOs for many different things in STEM class. First, they can just explore and build what their imagination tells them. They also can use the LEGOs to explore the concept of design in engineering. Engineering is not a field many students have heard of and really understand.
The LEGOs will allow the students to design and create in our STEM challenges.
I love that the LEGOs are reusable and durable. They can last a long time and allow many classes to enjoy and explore. What a better way to learn STEM than with colorful LEGO bricks!
